Coach Tyler Downey- New Head Baseball Coach

Goshen Local Schools are excited to announce Mr. Tyler Downey as our new Head Coach for the Warrior baseball program pending Board of Education approval on October 10.  Coach Downey is new to Goshen Local Schools this year as a member of the Middle School teaching staff.

“Coach Downey has been a great addition to the Goshen staff. He is an excellent teacher, and I look forward to seeing the impact that he will have on developing our young men on the field, in the classroom, and in the community,” Scott Wake said.  “He is quickly becoming passionate about Goshen and the Warrior community. Coach Downey is passionate about getting involved with the youth program and will set high standards for his players and coaches.”

Coach Downey was born and raised in Mason, Ohio where he played his High School baseball career. He then went on to the University of Dayton where he played club baseball for the Flyers. After finishing up his college degree, Coach Downey spent the last seven years with Hamilton City Schools as a teacher and baseball coach.

Coach Downey said “It’s an honor and privilege to take on this role with the Goshen Baseball Program.  I’m excited for this next chapter in my coaching career and eager to get involved in the community.  My hope is to build a program that is sustained for current and future success and to give the community a team to cheer for.  I look forward to working with the players, parents, and staff in helping these young men become winners on the field and in the classroom.  #GoshenStrong”

A player meeting will be planned in the near future, as Coach Downey wants to meet the players, announce his staff and go over his offseason expectations with prospective players.  Information on the meeting will be communicated through the district website and our district Facebook page.  If you would like to welcome Coach Downey his email address is [email protected]

We are extremely excited with Coach joining our Goshen Family and look forward to a great spring season.
